January 28,2017 Cold
58 degrees is cold for us Floridians.
The wind was a cold northerly coming it at about 8-12 with some higher gusts. You may have to ask the sailors that were out there. The Kelly's had their trouble before leaving the dock. A parted main haylard kept them onshore. Stu set the course on the western shore closer to the big bridge which was a little more protected that the middle of the bay. That gave the Kelly's an opportunbity to climb the bridge and watch the racing and get some far away pictures. We should have had a tape recorder because we realized we giving play by plays from the bridge. "Bob and Angie, gybe now-- that was a pretty nice gybe. Stu just got headed. Bruce and Janet aren't pointing as high as Stu but they are going faster. Look at Bob and Angie sailing by Stu and Andy - where did that speed come from? There was more but we won't tell.Bob's red spinnaker |
