Sailing the North Course

Fleet Racing  -  Saturday, April 23, 2016

This racing day brought moderate winds up to 10 mph, aqua water, blue skies with a few white puffy clouds.  We decided to sail north to give us wider water so we could set a triangle with a windward leeward leg.  Our markers have about had it so we used Stu's homemade pipe mark with a red flag for the windward mark which was a little hard to find but we managed.  The gybe mark was a small orange buoy with the first reach a little tight leaving it an iffy spinnaker leg.

Four boats competed today.  We missed Mark and Lil.  Mark was hosting an Open House at his home club, the Boca Ciega Yacht Club.  On the line was Stu and Andy, the Bobs, the Kreutzers and the Kelly's.  The Kelly's took the first race and the last race and it was downhill in between.  Stu and Andy took two 1st's as well.  We had five races.  Who else had a 1st?  Did Stu have three firsts?
